What it does

Credits the hours correctly

States set their own numbers: how many supervised hours, how many at night, whether a single day can be capped. Those requirements are read as data rather than hard-coded, so the running total means what the licensing office thinks it means.

Prints the record

The point of a log is the document at the end of it. Driveworthy exports a signable log formatted for a licensing office — including the Texas fourteen-hour in-car observation sheet — plus a plain backup file you keep.

Logs a session in seconds

A drive gets logged from the car, not reconstructed a week later. Day and night split from the actual sunrise and sunset where you were, so nobody argues later about when dusk was.

What it stores, and where

Your practice log
On the phone, in the app’s own database. Optionally synced through your private iCloud. Anchorwright never receives it.
Location
Coarse location only, and only to work out sunrise and sunset for the day/night split. No route is recorded and nothing is transmitted.
Accounts
None. There is nothing to sign up for and no password to lose.
Payment
A one-time unlock through Apple’s purchase system when the app ships. No subscription; the studio never sees a card number.
Planned, not built
Sharing a log with a supervising adult on their own device, through Apple’s private sharing. It is named here because it will be the first feature that moves data to a second person.

What is Driveworthy?

Driveworthy is an iPhone app for logging supervised practice drives with a learner driver. It credits hours against your state’s actual licensing requirements and produces a record a licensing office will accept.

Is Driveworthy on the App Store?

Not yet. Driveworthy is in development and has not been released. It is made by Anchorwright LLC, a one-person software studio in Texas.

Does Driveworthy track where I drive?

No. It uses coarse location only, and only to determine sunrise and sunset so day and night hours split correctly. No route is recorded, no trace is stored, and nothing is transmitted.

Does it require an account?

No. There is no sign-up and no password. Your log lives on your phone, optionally synced through your own private iCloud.

Will the exported log be accepted by a licensing office?
